Our Soil Management Services:

Soil Testing -  a process most arborists will use that help identify what elements and nutrients are in the soil. This can paint a clear picture as to why you may be having problems growing plants. With this new data, our arborists can build a treatment plan that can alter the soil to be more hospitable for sustaining plant life.
Picture
Soil Alteration - is needed when soil becomes unable to sustain life. There are many ways soil can become barren; one way is construction - this can cause soil to become like clay and stop absorbing water known as "Hard Soil".  Other alterations we make are altering the contents in some soils to help enrich the nutrients for macro life and for floral life. In some areas of the city, you may be surprised to know that there are different types of soil 2 feet under the soil you plant on. This is due to the original contractors who built the neighborhood. These contractors will use either clay or sand to lay the foundation on each lot, this can change the nutrients and how root of plants will take hold.  What’s under your soil? If you like to know more about our Soil Alterations services please contact us @ 281-803-8005

Soil Conditioning - is the process of applying nutrients into the soil. Unlike fertilizing, Soil Conditioning changes the density of the soil to hold more air and allow the soil to hold more water and nutrients. Soil conditioning can also change the PH levels of the soil. If you would like to keep your soil nice and fertile contact us at 281-803-8005.
Picture
Sick Tree Diagnosis - Trees do get sick, but not in the way we do. There are many different ways a tree can show signs that it is sick or dying.  When a tree has a problem, it goes through a process to try and eliminate it. It reduces resources in areas to help offset the issue that is causing it harm. These stages may not be something a common person may notice until too late. Our Tomball Arborist will explain why a tree is in stress, and what could be the issues to be concerned with areas that are minor and can wait. Contact us here and schedule a consultation and have your trees examined.

Sick Tree Treatment - is a process of repairing tree damage caused by outside sources. From lightening strikes to insect and fungal infestation, our Tomball arborists have the resources and education to safely help heal a tree and its ailments. There are some trees that cannot be saved, and if that happens, our arborist will let you know and why.

Picture
Tree Fertilization - top soil and deep soil fertilization puts new nutrients into the soil to help boost the macro bacteria and macro life in the soil that produce resources that plants and trees need. These nutrients are nitrate and potassium based, the building blocks for promoting life in the soil. This service is not the same as soil conditioning, but together they can maximize the growth for best results throughout the year.

The Right Arborist Choice!

Deep Root Fertilization - is a type of fertilization service that injects needed nutrients and beneficial nitrate fixing bacteria to help stimulate root growth and root health.
Picture
Tree Purchasing - When looking for a tree, it is a good practice to know the difference between healthy tree saplings from an unhealthy one. To the average buyer, noticing signs of a sick or stressed trees, can easily be missed. Having an ISA Certified Arborist to select the best and healthiest tree in the lot, can be the most cost effective way to attain the best possible options.
Picture
Tree Cataloging & Appraisal - What is tree cataloging? It is the process of recording the type of tree on the property, how many of these species, where on the lot it’s located, and its health and value. Yes, your trees have huge economic value. This value is based in size, health, water absorption, and energy cost savings. Trees provide shade that can reduce the temperature in the area up to 15%.  How much value do you have on your property?
Picture
Tree Line Clearance - We provide the tree care industry with the finest climbing arborists one can find. We have a rigorous training and skills testing process that allows us only accept the best. Our Tomball Arborist can scale up for large projects on short notice and without sacrificing quality. Our Tomball Arborist service stands out as the most professional, efficient, and responsive company in the line clearance industry. From secondary lines to transmission lines, in cities or in rural mountains, we have worked from coast to coast in the United States on the highest profile tree projects ever conducted.

Tree Disposition Plans - Many municipalities require that a tree disposition plan be submitted as a part of the permitting process. A disposition plan usually consists of a tree survey that shows the trees plotted on a survey, an inventory which shows the trees numbered on a spread sheet with condition ratings and species and sizes, and description of the mitigation efforts to take place. This can be a very confusing process for builders, architects, and homeowners. You will likely be required to hire an ISA Certified Arborist or Forester to have the plan created. The owners of ArborTrue helped author the tree protection legislation for Texas, so our ISA Certified Arborists will be able to help you navigate the process with ease and confidence.
Insect & Bug Prevention - the best way to get rid of insect infestation is to prevent it from happening. We do this by applying horticultural oils, that are environmentally safe, designed to repeal these particular insects. These services are inexpensive and affordable for year- round maintenance.

Insect & Bug Eradication - We can save most trees that are recently infested with insects or beetles. Our Services are environmentally safe and also help the tree's immune system to rid itself of the insects and the fungi they leave behind.

Curbside Appeal

Picture
Curbside appeal is the goal of every homeowner. This is because it brings many benefits to the home owner like cooler surroundings from the shade that trees bring. As the property is well kept and maintained, the property value itself starts to rise, upwards to 15% to 25% a year. What does it take to build this type of appeal?  There is an old saying "knowledge is power" and this is true today. From soil management to tree trimming, arborists at ArborTrue continue to educate themselves to provide the best service possible, with the best results. Our Tomball Arborist division of Arbortrue can help local homeowners with their curbside appeal, with their insights and understanding of geological regions and how it can affect your results.

Greener Pastures

Do you know that dark green is a sign of a healthy and strong plant. The deep green pigment in the leave or lawn blade can process light more efficiently as well as absorb more liquids. The benefit of having lawn and trees with these qualities are cooler areas and fresher air. The leaves will filter out pollution and carbon from the air, leaving a clean refreshing air to enjoy.
It takes more than fertilizer to get results!
Picture this scenario; A "sickly person" goes to the doctor for a check up, while the doctor checks him over and ask him questions on his symptoms,  the doctor says I can't tell for sure until I see the results of the test come back, but you may be suffering from a lack of vitamins or deficit in nutrition. So the patient goes and buys a bunch of vitamins and high nutrition drinks. A week later this sickly person was now feeling worse and back at the doctors office. The doctor looks at the sickly person and says his test results came back and show he had a low iron and also fighting a parasite. Unfortunately, all the vitamins and nutrients boost he took made the parasite enormous and now require surgery to remove it.

Much like the story above, over fertilizing or putting unknown chemicals into the soil, could cause more problems than fix. There could be underlying issues, much like the parasite, where there is an invading force, like parasitic fungi, or insects, that could be causing all the problems. Much like the Doctor, our Expert Tomball Arborist will examine the soil and vegetation on a client's property, then take samples for testing. Once they have a proper idea of what the health of the soil is, to bacterial infection, they can develop a proper nutrient content for the fertilizing of the soil. This ensures maximum results, and ensure the greenest lawn in the neighborhood.

What is a Pine Bark Beetle?

The Pine Bark Beetle is a small beetle that attacks pine trees. They are attracted to trees that are experiencing high amounts of stress due to drought, flooding, neglect etc.. The Pine Bark Beetle is approximately the size of a grain of rice and bores a small hole through the bark and into the vascular layers of the Pine tree. These layers allow flow of nutrients from the roots to the canopy of the tree (like our veins and arteries). Although small, the Pine Bark Beetle attacks the tree in large numbers so that the number of bore holes in the Pine can reach up to the thousands. Ultimately, the vascular layer of the tree is so devastated, that essential nutrients are no longer able to reach the tree's foliage and the tree dies. This can take as little as 14 days from the time the Pine Bark Beetle enters the tree. By the time you notice the infestation, it may have already been 10 days or more.

How does Tomball Arborist Manage these Pests?

A small plug called ,an ArborPlug, is directly inserted into a drill hole around the base of the tree. A specialized needle is then inserted into the Arborplug and formula is injected into the vascular system of the tree. The formula is then dispersed throughout the trunk, branches and leaf tissue. The ArborPlus keeps the injected formula inside the tree, protects the drill hole, and remains inside the tree without adverse effects. In time, the tree grows right over the plug.

Why is this Method Beneficial?

Once applied, there is no mess left behind! There are no chemicals that are left in the grass or air, so it is safe for your children and your pets. The treatment is highly effective and supported by proven university studies and trials. The product used lasts for 2 years and it has long lasting effects will ensure the safety of your trees from pests for the following years.

What are NOT Suitable Methods?

Spraying the Trees: Spraying a tree is only effective for pest that actually come in contact with the insecticide. Pine Bark Beetles are embedded deep inside the tree so spraying would not be beneficial. Spraying will also kill desirable insects such as butterflies, honey bees, lady bugs and others. Spraying insecticides in not legal near waterways and is toxic to native fish. It can also be extremely messy and will wash off during periods of rain.

What does it Cost?

Application cost is dependent on amount of product used, trunk diameter and labor for application. Contact Tomball Arborist today to schedule your consultation by calling  281-803-8005 or you can fill out our online contact form.

We advise homeowners to adopt preventative measures by
identifying the causes for a Pine Bark Beetle attack.

Prevention is key when it comes to Pine Bark beetles. There are a few precautionary measures that you can take to prevent beetle entry and infestation. They are:
  • Act diligently before active season for Pine Bark beetles begins! Although they can remain active through winter, peak season for beetle activity is March to October.
  • Homeowners that have Pine trees need to keep a close eye out for browning needles.
  • A symptom that must not be over looked is when a pine tree becomes stressed, it will produce a higher quantity of Pine cones.
  • If a fine granular or fuzzy like sawdust appears at the base of your tree you MUST call us right away!
  • When pitch tubes appear, they resemble small crawfish mounds protruding from the trunk, it may be too late to save your tree at this point so call us immediately.
